Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially announced the conclusion of their nearly decade-long relationship. In a statement issued through their representatives, the 40-year-old pop artist and 48-year-old actor confirmed their commitment to co-parenting their four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, “with love.”

The couple’s representatives told Us Weekly on July 3, “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting.”

Their message emphasized their ongoing familial bond: “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

This announcement follows reports from a week earlier indicating that the pair had amicably separated, with sources describing the breakup as “a long time coming” due to increasing tension between them. A source shared that while Perry “is of course upset,” she feels “relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”

Before her engagement to Bloom, Perry was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012. The couple briefly split in 2017 but rekindled their relationship in early 2018, before Bloom proposed on Valentine’s Day in 2019.

Insiders reported last month that they intended to wait until Perry’s tour ended before making their breakup public. Since April 23, Perry has been on tour, which is slated to conclude in December. Speculation also suggested that their relationship began to deteriorate after the disappointing response to her 2023 album, “143.” A source noted, “Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album. It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”

Adding to the breakup speculation, Bloom appeared solo at Jeff Bezos’ lavish $50 million wedding last week, further fuelling rumors. He later posted a vague message about “a new beginning.”

Acknowledging the split, Perry hinted at her emotional state during a recent performance, expressing gratitude to her Australian fans: “Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world.”

The couple started their relationship in 2016 and welcomed their first child together in August 2020. Bloom was previously married to Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr from 2010 until their divorce in 2013, and they have a 13-year-old son, Flynn. Reflecting on their past struggles, Perry recently explained on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, “We weren’t really in it from day one… I was fresh out of a relationship and I was just like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond.’”
