Sean “Diddy” Combs will continue to remain incarcerated while he awaits sentencing for his recent conviction on two counts related to prostitution, as ruled by a judge on Wednesday evening. Earlier that day, a jury found the renowned hip-hop mogul guilty on two out of five charges against him, while acquitting him of the remaining three counts.

The jury of 12 cleared Combs of the more serious allegations of racketeering and sex trafficking but convicted him on lesser prostitution-related offenses.

At 55 years old, Combs faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Prior to the judge’s decision regarding bail, there was a hearing where Combs’s legal team requested his release on a $1 million bond. However, Judge Arun Subramanian rejected this request, referencing the defense’s own concessions during the trial. “At trial, the defense conceded the defendant’s violence in his personal relationships,” he stated, noting that Combs had not demonstrated that he poses “no danger to any person.”

The jury deliberated for over 12 hours over the course of three days. On Tuesday afternoon, jurors notified the court that they had reached a consensus regarding counts two through five, which included accusations of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as transportation for prostitution. However, they were unable to agree on the first charge of racketeering conspiracy.

Shortly into their deliberations on Wednesday, jurors communicated to the judge that they had settled on verdicts for all five counts.
